Becoming part of RED

RED is not an association you sign up to: it is a movement you are recognised into. The application exists to check one thing only — that your work holds to the RED philosophy.

  1. Send your application
    Using the form below. It takes about fifteen minutes: the questions about your work call for real answers, not slogans.
  2. The council assesses it
    Within 30 days. What is checked is consistency with the ten points, not your curriculum.
  3. Acceptance
    You receive the outcome by email. No fee, no payment: RED is not for sale.
  4. Publication
    A profile among the members and a point on the world map, if you have given consent.

Membership of RED is free.

There is no joining fee and no paid renewal. What is asked of you is to represent the RED philosophy in your work, and to confirm once a year, with one click, that you are still active — so that the map stays alive. Use of the RED mark is included, for work that holds to the philosophy.

3 · Your work

Please select at least one discipline.

Waste, industrial rejects, discarded objects, salvaged material: be concrete. Where it comes from, who was throwing it away, what state it reaches you in. If you also use new material, say so openly and explain in what proportion: it is not a disqualification, as long as salvage remains at least half.
